Abstract
The researcher aims to determine the application of Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) Learning to students' mathematical communication on opportunity material. This type of research is semi-experimental. This research was conducted at the Al-Istiqomah Private Vocational School in the Land of Java. The sample of this study consisted of 2 experimental classes, namely the experimental group of class X TKJ Vocational School with a total of 34 people and the TKR class X control group with 34 people. Learning used in this study is Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL). This study consisted of a description test and a trial test to see the feasibility of the question. The results obtained by the test are reliable and the posttest questions have 5 valid questions. From the tests obtained that the sample comes from the population has a homogeneous variance and is normally distributed. From the post test data analysis, it was obtained that the average in the experimental class was 70.28 and the average in the control class was 65.83. Thus, it can be concluded that students' mathematical communication in the opportunity material taught with Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) learning is better than students who receive learning with conventional learning in class X of the Al-Istiqomah Private Vocational School in Java.
